Using Media & Storytelling to Support Anti-Trafficking Efforts (2025–2026)
Between 2025 and early 2026, I was involved in leadership and communications efforts supporting anti-trafficking initiatives based in Las Vegas, contributing through media, outreach, and strategic partnerships.
This work was both professional and deeply personal. Las Vegas continues to rank among the highest cities in the United States for human trafficking activity, making awareness, prevention, and access to resources critically important.
During this period, I focused on using my background in media production and communications to help expand visibility and create meaningful touchpoints between organizations, the public, and those working on the front lines.
My contributions included:
Supporting public awareness campaigns and strategic communications initiatives
Facilitating partnerships and outreach efforts across organizations and community leaders
Helping develop concepts aimed at improving access to emergency support systems for youth in crisis
Contributing to media-driven initiatives designed to amplify under-resourced organizations
In addition to these efforts, I was able to help secure public-facing placements within major Las Vegas venues, including Aviator Stadium and Vegas Lights FC, through collaboration with local partners such as the Foster Care Chamber. These placements provided nonprofits with valuable exposure to thousands of attendees, extending awareness beyond traditional channels.
I also had the opportunity to support key outreach moments, including helping facilitate a video message from Chris Hansen, widely known for his work exposing exploitation, which was shared as part of broader awareness efforts.
Beyond production and strategy, I began stepping into a more public-facing role as a speaker by sharing personal testimony, lived experiences, and insights on abuse, trauma, and prevention. These speaking engagements further reinforced the importance of storytelling not just as a tool for awareness, but as a means of connection and healing.
At the end of 2025, I published Behind Closed Doors: The Truth About Abuse, a personal memoir that explores the realities of family abuse and the long-term impact it carries. The book reflects both personal experience and a broader commitment to speaking openly about difficult but necessary topics.
While my involvement in that specific organizational capacity concluded in early 2026, my commitment to advocacy has not. Today, I continue to focus on leveraging media, storytelling, and strategic collaboration to support causes that create real-world impact.
